Return to The Cage

Susan’s Second Dream

In the mystical lands of Eldoria, where the sun kisses the emerald peaks and the moon whispers to the ancient woods, there lived a young princess named Sanchi. Blessed with the gift of magic, she was not just the heir to the throne but also a sorceress of unparalleled power. Her magic had been forged under the tutelage of her father, King Aldren, who was both a wise ruler and a master of the arcane arts. Their bond was deep, forged in the fires of magic and love, and together, they were the guardians of their realm.

Among the king’s trusted advisors, there lurked a viper named Lord Veros, a man whose ambition was as dark as the void. Jealous of the king’s power and covetous of the throne, Veros conspired with the enemies of Eldoria, forging alliances with dark sorcerers and promising them riches and power in exchange for their allegiance.

On a night when the stars hid behind a veil of sorrow, Veros’s plan was set into motion. Using a dark ritual to shield their actions from the king’s foresight, the conspirators attacked. The palace, usually alive with the shimmering glow of protective spells, was silent, its defenses breached. King Aldren fought valiantly, his magic lighting up the night sky, but the betrayal from within his own ranks left him vulnerable. In the end, he was struck down, his last thoughts filled with concern for his kingdom and his beloved daughter.

Veros, hungry for power and blind to the ruin he wrought, pursued Sanchi with a venomous zeal, intending to extinguish the last ember of the rightful rule. With the palace fallen and her father’s teachings echoing in her heart, Sanchi fled into the night. Her escape led her into the dark underground, a labyrinth of forgotten paths and ancient secrets. Here, amidst the whispers of the earth and the caress of shadows, Sanchi found refuge. But in the confines of this hidden sanctuary, her grief fermented into a vengeful wrath that blackened her heart.

As months turned to years, Sanchi’s magic grew in power and darkness. She became a sorceress of formidable might, her spells woven with the threads of vengeance and sorrow. From the depths of her underground haven, she unleashed a series of enchantments upon Eldoria, each one a curse upon the land that had allowed her father’s downfall.

A blight fell upon the crops, wilting them within their fields. Livestock sickened and perished, their flesh turning to ash. Waters turned brackish and undrinkable, and a shadowy plague crept through the cities and villages, leaving only silence in its wake. Famine and disease ravaged the kingdom, and with each passing day, the land of Eldoria drew closer to collapse.

Lord Veros, ensconced in his stolen throne, watched in horror as his kingdom crumbled. The very people who had once cheered his ascension now cursed his name with their dying breaths. But the true architect of their demise remained a shadow, a whispered legend of a princess turned vengeful specter.

When the kingdom had been brought to its knees, its glory but a memory, and its people nothing more than corpses strewn across a blighted landscape, Sanchi emerged from the underground. Her heart, once full of love and hope, was now a citadel of ice and revenge. She confronted Veros in the ruins of her ancestral home, their battle a tempest of magic and malice.

With a power forged in the depths of her despair, Sanchi killed Veros, his end a mere footnote in the tragic saga of Eldoria. But her victory was as hollow as the halls of her once-glorious palace. Around her lay the kingdom she had sought to reclaim, now a mausoleum of her vengeance. The air was thick with the scent of decay, and the silence was a testament to her wrath. In her quest to punish those who had wronged her, she had become the harbinger of Eldoria’s doom. The throne she reclaimed was a throne of bones, her crown forged from the sorrow and suffering of her people.
